Corinne Atkinson - Director at Large - MLA/T - Nominee

I am a graduate of Everest College MLAT and a member of the OSMT since 2011. Throughout my career at LifeLabs, I have taken every available opportunity to acquire new skills and meet new teams. I have worked or held contract positions in testing, phlebotomy and specimen management, been a trainer and helped develop or revise procedures at my company, and now I’m seeking the opportunity to join the board of directors of the OSMT. I am passionate about continuing education, and keeping up to date on the most current and accurate techniques and procedures. I feel that becoming a member of the board would be an exciting and enriching opportunity to interact with members from across the province, representing all lab disciplines, to learn from, and share experiences with the OSMT community.

Bev Wydysk -  Director at Large - MLA/T - Nominee

I have been in customer service for years before my employment at the hospital .I have been working as an LTA at Norfolk General Hospital for almost 10 years and I really enjoy it. I have found my passion and love my job. I perform phlebotomy and ecg and specimen testing handling and storage and have become quite comfortable in my job. I’m very involved in all aspects of my job. I am an officer on the health and safety team, I run the MSDS and belong to MSDS on line. I print and am solely responsible for keeping all the MSDS sheets up to date and controlling that all chemicals are stored and labelled correctly. I keep up to date with all the testing and the specimen collection requirements in fact I was a huge part of our OLA accreditation this year and I also received a thank you from our CEO for my outstanding job in that inspection. II wish to be part of the board to keep up to date and informed in all aspects of my job. I am very excited to get the opportunity to be a part of a great organization that supports my passion.

Kamil Haddad - District 5 Nominee

Started my Career as a Medical Laboratory Technologist after graduating from the Hadassah Community College in Jerusalem in 1979. Received my registration from the Canadian Society of Laboratory Technologist in 1982, and since then I have been an active member of both the OSMT and the CSMLS. In 2002 I received my Bachelor Degree in Health Administration and started a Career in Education of MLAT’s at Everest College where I held the position of Teaching Chair. Currently I am the Program Chair for the CMA accredited MLAT program at Medix College. As an educator, with many of my graduates working at various hospitals and private laboratories around the GTA and beyond, I pride myself of the responsibility and the contribution to the profession. After 37 years as a technologist, I feel the time is ripe for me to contribute to the profession by representing my district as a board member of the OSMT.

Andrea Park - District 5 Nominee

As an MLT and Quality Manager with experience working in the Hospital, Community Laboratory and Accreditation setting, my interest to serve on the OSMT board stems from my desire to collaborate with others and advocate what we do each and every day - provide high quality laboratory services to our patients and clients. I graduated from the University of Toronto in 2004, received my MLT registration in 2007 and Laboratory Quality Manager Certification in 2009 from the Michener Institute of Applied Health Sciences. I am currently working on completing my Masters of Health Management graduation in 2018. Together with my experience and passion of laboratory medicine and quality I would be honored to serve on the board.
