URINALYSIS IN THE 21ST CENTURY

COURSE CONTENT:
The history of urinalysis; urinary system anatomy, structure and function; strip
testing; microscopic examination, and a review of renal diseases.
Case studies of a range of clinical cases will be presented.
A self-test exam is included.
A series of over 50 microscopic slides will be presented to give those attending
a chance to observe many of the less common findings.
Developing technologies will be reviewed.
OBJECTIVES:
Urinalysis is such a common procedure in every lab, doctors office, and clinics,
yet many of those performing this procedure have not had the opportunity to
understand the full dynamics of testing urine, and the implications of the
results.
