The OSMT study package for the MLA/T Exam is available from the OSMT office for approved exam applicants.
This package is considered an OSMT approved review/refresher course however it is not recommended for current students or recent graduates.
Study package includes a textbook (Clinical Laboratory Science: The Basics and Routine Techniques, 6th Edition), Histology and Cytology notes, a reference guide on Acts and Regulations and a practice exam with minimal questions.  Participants study at their own pace.
Cost: $210.00

Please note: courses and packages are generally available about two months prior to the exam date only.

Health Training Online (HTO)
Cost: $550.00
 
Study for the OSMT MLA/T Certification Examination with this new online review program.  Review includes a study manual with over 800 multiple choice questions and condensed program review notes to help students prepare for the actual exam.  Access to 10 mock exams that are timed accordingly and corrected as students complete the exams, will enhance exam writing skills.  This online review offers laboratory assistant/technician graduates total convenience and accessibility.  Students can register, write exams, and review the manual at any time, with no scheduled dates or required class attendance.

OSMT MLA/T Certification Exam  Tutorial/Review
Pre-Requisites:  Non Medix students must show proof of completion of MGLA/MLA/T program with submission of diploma and/or transcript prior to registering. Current Medix students must be near completion date with eligibility to write exam.

Course Content:  Topics reviewed will include Anatomy, Physiology and Terminology, Chemistry, ECG, Equipment, Haematology & Coagulation, Histology & Cytology, Law & Professional Ethics, Math, Microbiology & Immunology, Phlebotomy & Specimen Collection, Safety, Urinalysis

Tuition Fees:  Medix College Graduates and current students $99.00.  Non Medix student $299.00.  Tuition includes printed copy of exam questions and answer key for each topic.  Also includes an additional 485 question OSMT practice exam and answer key.

Upgrade Program for Re-write Applicants:
Applies to those who have been informed by OSMT to complete a ?Upgrade/Refresher Course?
This program involves further training and upgrading of graduates' theoretical and practical skills in medical laboratory science.  Students will be improving their skills by revising the MLA program material, completing all program exams, and completing an evaluation of their MLA practical skills.  Students will have access to the 10 online mock exams and 800 multiple choice questions provided to the HTO Exam Review upon successful completion of the Upgrade.  The program is offered full-time, part-time and combination correspondence.  Completion time is approx. 6-12 weeks.  Students taking the course in-school will be provided hands-on practice in our laboratory including ECG and Phlebotomy.  Students completing the program on a correspondence basis will receive all of the same text books but will required to provide an evaluation of their practical skills by their clinical supervisor.  For those currently not working within a clinical setting, you may be required to complete your practical evaluation at Robetech. 
 
Pre-Requisite: Graduate of a recognized MLA/T diploma program  accredited by OSMT and/or third time OSMT exam challengers.  It is assumed that those applying have the basic knowledge and skills of an MLA/T, as this is a comprehensive upgrade program, not a diploma course.
 
Tuition Fees:$3,400.00 (All Inclusive).  A "Certification of Completion" will be issued upon completion.  Tuition fees include all review and upgrading materials.
