Article guidelines

Submitting an Article?

Guidelines for Submitting an Article for Publishing
  • Feature articles should be no more than 800 - 1200 words in length.
  • Accompanying graphs, figures or charts should be no more than a 1/2 page in length.
  • References are acceptable but should not extend your article outside the maximum word count.
  • Length of other submissions should be discussed with the Editorial Committee.
  • Articles should be submitted by e-mail to, if possible.
  • Articles should be created in Microsoft Word or as a Text file. (Please call if this is a problem)
  • Articles to be submitted by deadline indicated.  If you need additional time, please contact the OSMT office.
  • Articles should be accompanied by a photograph (head shot is best) of the author. 
  • Electronic photos must be a minimum 300 dpi (high resolution).
  • Editorial Committee reserves the right to shorten articles.

A Call For Case Studies
Members are encouraged to submit case studies for publication in Advocate.  Fifty dollars will be paid for each published study.  Should members have comments or questions regarding the Case Study after publication, the author(s) should be prepared to answer these.
