Certification of Medical Laboratory Assistants/Technicians (MLA/Ts)
The OSMT is the certifying body for Medical Laboratory Assistants/Techncians (MLA/Ts) in the province of Ontario. The Society's certification program validates that an individual has attained a recognized level of standards and training through OSMT approved educational institutions. With the use of an examination process, the Society has granted MLA/T certification to over 9,000 individuals.
Certification by the OSMT is regarded as a mandatory requirement of employment by many Ontario laboratories.
